Record High: Ireland’s 2024 Ryder Cup Tickets Priced at £434 Daily

The cost of attending the Ryder Cup in Europe is set to rise significantly next year when the tournament returns to Adare Manor in County Limerick, with the U.S. team seeking to reclaim the trophy. Fans in Ireland will soon have the opportunity to purchase tickets, which are priced at €499 (£434) for a daily pass. This marks a substantial increase from the €260 face value for tickets at the Rome event three years ago.

While daily tickets have seen a steep hike, practice-day tickets are more affordable. Prices start at €89 for adults and €20 for children on Tuesday and Wednesday, increasing to €179 and €30 on Thursday, which includes access to the opening ceremony. Despite these record prices for a European-hosted Ryder Cup, it’s worth noting that fans were charged $750 (£555) for the event at Bethpage in New York last year, where Europe claimed victory over the U.S.

Richard Atkinson, the chief Ryder Cup officer, acknowledged the price increase from the Rome event, noting that several factors have contributed to the change over the past four years. He emphasized that the pricing remains below that of the Bethpage event and stressed efforts to maintain accessibility for a diverse range of spectators. Atkinson highlighted that practice day tickets start at €89, with junior tickets available from €20. He described the pricing as proportionate to a global sporting event of such stature and profile.

Organizers are attempting to offset the impact of the price hikes by promising an enhanced experience for fans attending the 2027 Ryder Cup in Ireland. This event marks the tournament’s return to the country since 2006, when Europe emerged victorious in Straffan, County Kildare. Plans include a record 20,000 grandstand seats and an increased number of giant screens to improve the onsite experience for spectators.
