Meta has introduced a new line of AI-enabled wearable technology, including smart glasses that prioritize user privacy by excluding cameras. These audio-only glasses, available from October 13 at a starting price of $349, aim to address privacy concerns associated with wearable devices that have the capability to capture images and videos.
In contrast to the camera-free model, Meta continues to offer smart glasses with camera and display functionalities. These enhanced models are priced starting at $799 and are expected to become available in more international markets, showcasing Meta’s commitment to expanding their wearable technology offerings.
Additionally, Meta unveiled lighter mixed-reality glasses, which utilize an external battery and memory pack. This advanced device is slated for a spring 2027 release with a starting price of $1,299, reflecting Meta’s forward-looking approach to integrating augmented reality into everyday technology.
Complementing these wearable innovations is Muse, Meta’s AI-powered personal assistant. Muse is designed to perform tasks such as booking appointments, making calls, and connecting users with various services. These technological advancements underscore Meta’s strategy to integrate AI more deeply into consumer products.
