In his remarks, Putin also mentioned that Russia is contemplating the resumption of peace talks with Ukraine. This consideration comes in the wake of recent Ukrainian attacks on Russian territory. Putin stated that Moscow would carefully evaluate its next actions before deciding on whether to re-enter negotiations.
Despite these declarations, Russian military operations in Ukraine persist, with ongoing airstrikes leading to casualties and damage to both civilian and industrial infrastructure. A recent attack in Kyiv resulted in the deaths of seven people, including a 14-year-old boy, and left dozens injured.
Additionally, the conflict has impacted Ukraine’s economic stability, as evidenced by ArcelorMittal’s decision to halt production at Ukraine’s largest steel plant. This decision follows repeated Russian attacks that damaged the facility and resulted in worker casualties, exacerbating the economic strain on Ukraine as the war continues.
